Keys to SuccessÂ
In order to inspire yourself and stay on your plan, you need to find ways to stay motivated throughout the entire fat loss journey. Incorporate some or all of the following and you will not have a problem with your fat loss. Â
Set process goals rather than outcome goals – Setting goals is essential for success in anything. However, most people do not set the right kind of goals when trying to lose weight. It is not enough to just say “I want to lose 20 pounds!” Instead, set process goals. A process goal is one that you can work on each day and have total control over. An example of a process goal is; “Today, I am going to exercise for 30 minutes on the stationary bike!” Process goals will keep you on task and keep your motivation high. Â
Forced Accountability – One of the best ways to keep motivated on the fat loss journey is to force yourself to be accountable. Make sure you let your close friends and co-workers know what your goals are and more so, what your plan is to accomplish those goals. By doing this, you are forcing yourself to be accountable to everyone that you told. It is much easier to stay motivated when you know people will call you on it. Â
Put your money on the line – Another great way to motivate yourself thin is to spend some of your money on your goal. Hire a trainer, pay for a class, purchase new workout clothes, or do all of the above. If you are hurting for instant motivation with your fat loss goals, spending money on these goals will do wonders to keep you going. Most people will tend to work harder when they have invested their hard, earned money towards the final goal. Â
Join a group or contest – Thanks to the TV show, “The Biggest Loser” people have learned the incredible power of using competition to bolster motivation. When you join a contest or a group of people with the same goals that you have, motivation is no problem. In fact, people are much more likely to not only stick to their fat loss program when they join a group or competition, they are much more successful in their end goal of losing weight. Biggest Loser-type contests are popping up all over the place these days. Â
